Creating memorable family moments are so important in this age of social media. We are always looking for ways to create family memories but also ways to connect with our children. This week our weather has not been that summery so this idea is great for those not so warm summer days indoors. This family night activity is great for any season indoors or outdoors. The key is to enjoy time as a family.

That simple and you have created a memory for your family that your children can pass down to their family and you can enjoy each others company. Enjoy your time with your children because they won't be young always.

Love this time of year, sooooo many wardrobe options. I chose to do a casual simple black dress and bright expressive head wrap a must have for a natural girl. I paired my ensemble with a classic wedge with a pop of purple. The head wrap was a beautiful silk piece of fabric gifted to me by my brother and I love the material.

Fathers Day is Sunday June 21, 2015 and what a great time to show love to the fathers. Below I have compiled a list of great Fathers Day gift ideas for the fathers and father figures in your life.

It's that time of year for the children to get out of school. I have compiled a list of activities and events for the children and family friendly fun. The events below will include general information as well as local Detroit Metro area information so refer to your states summer activities in regards to local area events.

Free activities

1. Local library activities - They offer summer reading programs as well as summer activities (varies according to library) check HERE for summer reading programs at Detroit public library and HERE

for Dearborn public libraries. Check the libraries directory for summer activities for your local library and by all means get your children a library card.

2. Bowling or kids skate free HERE and HERE

3. Go to the Beach and make a day of it. Pack a picnic and have a great family experience.

4. Fireworks is a great summer experience, Detroit area info HERE and for all Metro area firework displays HERE.

5. Free fishing weekends HERE DNR hosts these yearly so refer to the site provided for schedule.

6. Free movies and events in the New center area, event calendar HERE. They show family friendly movies on Wednesday and Friday and also have some great shows for mom and dad too check it out.

Family

1. Pray for your mate and pray with your mate. This is great to express that you care and trust God with them. This creates a natural and spiritual connection. A great way to be on one accord in prayer for your marriage and family.

2. Write a love letter expressing how you feel for them. Sometimes as a married couple with all the hustle and bustle of life we forget to express our love for each other verbally and intentionally. Writing a romantic letter is a great way to fortify you and your mates emotional connections.

3. Learn your mates love language and express it accordingly. Find the book HERE and take the test together to learn to express your love in your partners love language. Be prepared for fireworks when you tap into your partners love language.

4. Send sweet special texts, letting your mate know you are thinking of them.

5. Do a romantic treasure chess or jar and have your mate write activities that they would love to do with you and at least once a month pull from the chess and plan to do the special activity for your mate. The planning is a act of love that will make your mate feel special.

6. Plan a romantic lunch, pack it in a picnic basket and go to your mates job and take them to lunch and enjoy each others company.

7. Post special sentiments on your mates social media sites to let them know your thinking of them.

8. Send your mate a floral or fruit arrangement just because either to work or home.

9. Express your love to your mate by reading them poetry. You can get a book of poetry from your local library if you don't have one. If you want to make the experience even more romantic and personal write a poem for them.

10. Simply express your undeniable love for your mate from the heart. Take time to think why you have fallen in love with them and express from the heart your love.

Bonus Tip: Kiss often to keep the romantic spark going. Live in the moment while kissing and enjoying your mates company and affection. Please do turn off all electronic devices and give them your full attention.
