Style/ My 5 Fall must haves

Skinny Jeans  Skinny Jeans styled here
A good skinny jean is so versatile and comfy. I love a skinny jean with a good stretch and mid-rise to handle my lady curves. These are great to wear for running errands to girls night out. I have several pairs in my wardrobe, and if properly taken care of last a long time.

Dark lipstick
I don't really wear a lot of makeup, but I love a good lipstick. A great dark fall lipstick is great to finish off your look and transition your makeup to fall.

Booties  Booties styled here
A great bootie can be dressed up or down. A wedge peep toe is great for comfort, for everyday wear. These pictured above are cute and comfortable and just one of many style options.

Chunky sweater
A great chunky sweater is great for those colder days. A great sweater is a stylish alternative to a fall jacket or coat. There are many options, such as button downs and a pullover. How can you go wrong with a comfortable, warm and stylish sweater?

Thigh high boot  Boots styled here
Thigh high boots are sexy and stylish, and I love one with a heel. These boots are great for date night or a day out. These boots look great with a cute dress or jeans which make them a versatile piece in your closet.

Style/ 3 tips to help you discover your personal style

Discovering your personal style is essential to having a wardrobe you love. It is not always easy knowing what works for you. There are several components to understanding your personal style, color, prints, and fits just to name a few. These three tips I'm sharing will send you on your way to discovering your personal style.

Try on your clothes
Try on different colors, textures, fits and styles to discover what looks and feels great on you. It is as important to feel good in your clothes. When things are uncomfortable or they don't make you feel great you are less likely to wear them. Once you discover what looks great and feel great, then you know what your shopping for.

Know thine own size
Knowing your size is soooo important to your look. It is great to be sized for undergarments and clothing. If you have never been measured for a proper fitting bra, please do so it makes a huge difference in how your clothes fit. Okay so at this point you know what looks good on you and you have your sizes together, you are on your way to shopping your personal style.

Be confident in your personal style
Confidence is the most important style accessory in my opinion. When you own and love what you wear it shows and baby you shine. Never be afraid to be you, your your style is an outward appearance of your inner beauty and personality. You now know what works on you, you know your size and that confidence is shining through let's go shopping.

Happy shopping, you're on your way to creating a wardrobe and style that you love and shows your personal style!

Life/ Healthy lifestyle update with bonus tips that keep me on track

The Journey
I started this journey 4 years ago, having no idea what would come of it. I knew I was tired of being sick and tired (literally). I was diabetic, over weight, exhausted, depressed and dealing with high blood pressure. I started on a journey to a better and healthier me. My faith is the biggest thing that kept me going when I didn't see results and wanted to give up. The picture on the left was my heaviest, at almost 200 pounds and struggling with depression. My first step was deciding to live a healthier lifestyle and everything else followed. I share my story because I am challenged seeing woman neglect their health and existing instead of living as I once did. I destroyed the mentality that as a mom I had to put my self on the back burner for my family. I now realize the reason I take care of me is to be a better me for them. I started out wanting to be a certain size, and as I grew in understanding it became more important to me to be healthy. I started out only exercising 5 minutes, because I was so out of shape and that was all I could do. Today I excercise 3-5 days a week at an hour or more intervals. Making the decision to take control of my health opened doors to change my entire life, mind, body, soul, and spirit.

3 things I learned about myself on this journey
  • I am a emotional eater and a lot of my weight gain came from unresolved emotional issues.
  • I did not truly love and honor myself properly.
  • Nobody else is responsible for my health, it has to be a priority for me.
3 things that keep me on track
  • Even on days I don't want to work out I put on my workout clothes and motivating music and take it one exercise at a time and I look up and I'm a hour in (It has become a lifestyle).
  • Being consistent even when I fall off, just don't stay there.
  • I DON"T deprive myself, I eat things I enjoy just in moderation and proper proportions.
Update on my health today
  • I am no longer insulin dependent and show no signs of diabetes
  • I no longer have high blood pressure
  • I no longer have migraine head aches
  • I am on a journey of emotional health and healing
  • I have maintained a healthy lifestyle for over 4 years
  • I feel so much better in my body, and have so much more energy
If you have a great testimonial of how healthy living has changed your life, please share your story because we inspire and learn from each other.

Life/ 5 ways to begin a productive day

For me having a morning routine sets the atmosphere for the rest of my day. When I miss my morning routine boy do I feel the burn. I am by nature a planner, so a morning routine is a must. This list of things help me prepare for the day ahead mentally, spiritually and physically.

Prayer and Meditation
My faith is my core beliefs and operating system and so just like a car when it's main computer is experiencing trouble, nothing works properly. This gives me a fresh perspective on the day ahead. Prayer and meditation is a way of life to mange life and all it's goodies. So for me prayer is not optional but intentional and necessary.

Affirmations
Affirmations are a great esteem booster and can be customized to your belief. These help me set my mind to faith and positive thinking.

Motivational Reading
I love reading and my morning read usually consists of the Bible and whatever book I'm reading for the month. I will from time to time read a great magazine or internet article focusing on my goal for the month.

Journaling
I think my journaling experience varies from emotional to poetry. I loveeee writing and I am a fan of hand written letters. Journaling is cathartic for me and is a stress reliever. My entries are a true way of release for me.

Music
I am a music lover and music for me is cathartic, therapeutic, and just enjoyable. I love all kinds of music and enjoy it's therapy. Listening to some great uplifting tunes helps set my mindset for the win for the day.

Metallic gold boots [Similar Here shorter version Here]
NYC Lips  [Color Mahogany]

Fall is here and I am in love with the metallic craze. My metallic boots I have had for years are still a go to for me. I got this dress some time ago and the color screams fall and it is super comfortable. You will see both of these pieces on heavy rotation from me this fall season. I don't wear a lot of make up but love a dark lip and this NYC lip is very affordable and super cute. Hope your enjoying the fall weather and cute fall gear.
